Features and Specifications:
OSD Audio offers customers a simple and very affordable way to finally get the network home they desire with our Category 5e cable. Cat5e is Cat5 "enhanced" cable with plenty of bandwidth for today's computers, routers, iPod docking stations, etc. Flexible and sturdy enough to run through walls and around corners, OSD Cat5e cable is a more affordable option than Cat6 (with just as high bandwidth) and will support super fast Ethernet operations.
What Is Unshielded Twisted Pair cable?
Unshielded means there is no metal shielding around the cable so that it can be run easily inside walls and around corners. The cable is twisted to aid in noise rejection. There are some environments with large motors, generators, and certain types of high-voltage lighting can be a source of Electromagnetic and Radio Frequency Interference (EMI/RFI). In these cases, shielded twisted pair (STP) would be recommended. However, 99% of networking applications can use unshielded Cat5 cables.
What's a "Booted" Cable?
All OSD Audio Cat5e cables are booted. The booted version has a more finished look and the best part is that the little tab that always seems to catch on things is protected!
