If You Have the Room, Go Bigger!
OSD carries speaker cones from small to large because not every room can accommodate a big in-ceiling speaker. Still, if you’re planning on adding in-ceiling or in-wall speakers as part of either a whole house audio system or just adding a couple of rooms, you will find bigger is better. An 8” cone will typically deliver a deeper bass response than 6.5” or smaller speakers. An 8”speaker also has a higher power handling specification needed to produce these lower frequencies. Frequency is the range of musical tones a speaker can produce. The larger the cone the lower the frequency range is available. So, if you have the room and your budget permits, go with an 8” cone.
OSD in-ceiling speakers have swivel tweeters that can be aimed toward listening areas, while some speakers feature front-mounted Contour Switches that enable you to tailor bass and treble up or down. This is an especially handy feature to tailor the sound to various room surfaces, such as wood floors, marble floors or carpet.
Easy Installation
All of our ceiling speakers can also be mounted in a wall and are designed for easy installation. Grilles and frames can be painted to match any décor, and each model comes complete with mounting templates and instructions. |
