How would I wire two IWS8 in Wall Subwoofers to the SMP60 Subwoofer Amp? Would you put one on each side of the center channel? What type of cables would you suggest?

Answer:
Hi Bill,
We would not recommend using the SMP60 to power two woofers. A better, more reliable package would be two 8" subs with the SMP250 (our MI3). We feature a package with the SMP250 and a single SW8 for $209.95 so you get the 8" sub for $10.00. A second sub would cost $49.95. They would be wired in parallel from the amplifier with a minimum of 14-gauge wire (our CL3 rated 14/2). You could mount them on either side of the center or front and back of your system. We also recommend reinforcing the area behind the sub and using some sort of fiberfill behind the driver in the stud bay.

What is the difference between the OSD IWS8 M13 AND THE OSD IWS8 SMP60? Do they both have an automatic turn off when not in use? Will they both connect to a Denon AVR-1912 Receiver?
Thanks, Don

Answer:
Don,
Night and day, the IWS8 and MI3 provide a much deeper, tighter bass. We even recommend adding a second IWS8 in-wall sub, because the MI3 sub amp will easily drive the two subs and give you better coverage throughout the room. Unlike the SMP60, the MI3 also features the auto music sensing feature you want. The Denon AVR-1912 has a single RCA subwoofer output. OSD offers a number of subwoofer cables up to 100 feet. There is a direct LFE input on the MI3 as well to connect to the AVR-1912 subwoofer output.

Hi,
I have a in-wall home theater setup and I'm looking for a in-wall subwoofer or...
Can you tell me what would be the best resolte of these options.
2 IWS8 SMP60 combo vs IWS10 MI3 combo vs OSD S-10
Thank You
Eric

Answer:
If you are looking total custom in-wall, the best option is the IWS10 plus MI3 subwoofer amplifier. I would suggest adding a second IWS10 in-wall subwoofer to this for maximum room coverage. The MI3 sub amp is a high current amplifier with plenty of horsepower to drive both speakers. The limitation to the in-wall subs is finding the optimum location. That is, one of the advantages of the external powered subwoofer is that you can move it around to find the ideal location that produces the most bass.
