Instructions
Simple Setup
This iPod docking station connects to the included BCB (basic connection box)
and your computer via the included bi-stranded cable. The USB connector on the
cable allows your iPort to sync with iTunes; the other strand on the cable
connects to the BCB, which provides power from an off-board DC power supply,
while delivering unbalanced audio/video to local sources (RCA, S-Video). This
system's unbalanced audio output is designed for use in a local-zone system
where the audio equipment is located less than 20 feet from the iPort. Need to
send your tunes a little farther? Add the iPort Balanced Audio Kit, which
delivers long-distance balanced audio from the iPod up to 500 feet.
Local or Remote iPod Control
The iPort Stand-Alone w/IR can be controlled from your iPod's front panel, using
controls on the iPort's face, or using a compatible third-party remote. A
matching IR remote is available in black and white. iPort IR codes for universal
remotes can also be downloaded; supported formats include: RTI, Phillips Pronto
style, and Universal Electronics (UEI). An IR receiver in the iPort relays
commands to the iPod through the dock connector.
In-Wall Version Available
Connect your iPod to your stereo through cables hidden in your walls. The iPort
In-Wall Docking Station w/IR works just like the iPort Stand-Alone w/IR but uses
cat. 5 cable to deliver music from a sleek in-wall docking station to your
stereo receiver or speakers.
