Can I connect a powered subwoofer to the input on this receiver?

Answer:
Hi Ian,
Yes, this amplifier features a pre-amplified output for the subwoofer output. It connects to either a powered subwoofer or a dedicated subwoofer amplifier connected to a passive subwoofer.

Does this receiver have dual zone capability so I can listen to two different inputs thru two different sets of speakers? ie A football game inside the house and music on the patio at the same time?
If, not, is this receiver able to shut off on set of outputs? ie listen to music on the porch and at football game thru the Tv speakers and not the speakers hooked up to the receiver.

Answer:
Hi Brian,
This receiver is tailored to a surround sound system. You would not be able to run two sources at the same time with any of our receivers. (Although, we do have a multi-channel amp, the MX1260, has this feature.) For speaker selection in a basic receiver, take a look at the Sherwood RX-4105 for 2 pairs or the RX-5502 for 4 pairs. This would allow you to play one or both zones. These units are both in our Amp and Electronics section.
