I use these speakers as my outdoor entertainment.Great sound nice color very rock looking.So far and 3 cookouts into the summer i've had a total of 50 people out of my 3 cookouts ask me where is all that music coming from.And my response is those rocks right there and the look on there faces is priceless. These speakers kick! Great bass response, and full sound. They have a lot of output level and can fill wide open spaces easily. You could pump these up so loud the whole block would hear you!! But, most likely they will be great for listening to your ipod and favorite CD's and the radio outdoors. I was able to use a regular boombox system as a receiver and just connect the rock speakers to that. No need for fancy expensive amplifiers or receivers. You just need lots of wire to relocate the speakers around your home garden or outdoor space. - Ian
