It also needs to be connected to your audio source that you are going to transmit wirelessly to the main speaker. The main speaker features a wireless receiver and power amplifier The main speaker has a power supply that needs to plugged into a AC wall outlet to power both the Receiver and internal amplifer. The satellite or second speaker is connected with a speaker wire to the main speaker. Everything you need to connect the system is included. So yes this system is electric.
