Dolby Digital EX This surround format from Dolby Digital includes an added center rear channel. The rear center channel is actually matrixed into the two rear channels, and is extracted upon playback. (Formerly called Dolby Digital Surround EX, or Dolby Digital Matrix 6.1.)

DTS NEO: 6 (New) In this format, the back surround channel is matrix encoded into the left and right surround channels. For playback, the three channels are separately decoded.

HQV Vida Video Processor The IDT HQV® Vida™ processor enhances image detail and quality with four-field motion adaptive de-interlacing, multi cadence tracking, expanded 12-bit color processing and detail enhancement. The result transforms standard-definition sources to HD quality and makes HD look even more detailed. Moreover, the device also provides real-time clean up of highly compressed video, reducing compression artifacts of block and mosquito noise from lower-quality sources.

The HQV Vida incorporates two new IDT HQV technologies — Auto HQV™ and HQV StreamClean™ — which automatically enhance the incoming image and provide powerful clean-up of source video, allowing the picture to be as crisp and clean as possible.

Auto HQV enables hands-free adjustment to optimize image quality of content from different sources or content that varies in quality. Auto HQV analyzes the video content to adaptively adjust image and noise processing parameters to optimize image quality and reduce artifacts.

The latest offering from IDT HQV also features 14-bit internal processing and 12-bit output for deep color processing and 3D gamut conversion for xvYCC processing. These capabilities provide accurate conversion of regular and wide gamut content to the display’s native gamut. In addition, The VHD1900 features six axis color control, with independent adjustment of any color’s hue, saturation and intensity.

Yamaha CINEMA DSP is much more advanced, actually creating richly realized independent sound fields that envelop you in an unmatched surround sound experience. With dialogue, music and effects from ideally located in these separate sound fields, you will hear sound with accurate placement, smooth movement, exceptional clarity and richness, and startlingly realistic presence. The decoding circuitry performs Dolby Pro Logic IIx, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital EX, DTS Digital Surround, DTS-ES (DTS-ES Matrix 6.1 and DTS-ES Discrete 6.1), DTS Neo:6 and DTS 96/24 decoding with extreme accuracy, as well as all digital sound field processing.

SCENE – A NEW LEVEL OF OPERATING EASE Four SCENE buttons make operating the receiver easier than ever. They are initially set to default settings for DVD Viewing, Disc Listening, TV Viewing and Radio Listening. Pressing a SCENE button automatically launches a number of operations that initiate play of the source controlled by that button. Other SCENE settings are also available, such as iPod Listening, XM Listening, TV Sports Viewing and Action Game Playing. Browsing and selecting the settings is quickly accomplished by changing Input via the front panel and watching the on-screen display. The settings can be selected for one-time use, or they can replace the original default settings. The SCENE names can be changed also.

YPAO Automatic System Calibration Yamaha’s YPAO system uses a small microphone and sophisticated equalization to automatically set the best sound for any room, no matter where the speakers are. First it checks the speaker connections and phase of each speaker. Then it sends out tones which are captured by the microphone to analyze the room acoustics and sets a variety of parameters, such as the speaker size, the distance of the speakers and even the sound pressure level, etc. Until it achieves the best sound conditions for your room and you don't have to do anything!

Bluetooth The Bluetooth® logo indicates that the product is equipped to use the optional YBA-10 Bluetooth® Wireless Audio Receiver that lets you connect the dock to the receiver and supports A2DP audio streaming.
