The FORZA8 is a compact but powerful outdoor in-ground subwoofer that delivers outstanding bass with up to 250 Watts of power handling and a built-in crossover network to filter low frequencies and enhance your outdoor sound experience. Easy to pair with existing Omni satellite speakers like our FORZA850 Omni speaker, adding the FORZA8 can make a remarkable difference in the sound quality of an outdoor system because it handles the bass and allows existing speakers to focus on mid and high frequencies. If you’re worried about the elements damaging the sub, fear not. The FORZA8 is built of a heavy-duty ABS plastic that is specially treated and sealed to protect components from water, dust, dirt, snow, and anything else mother nature throws at it. Whether you’re watching a movie outside with the neighbors or simply chilling poolside with tunes, you’ll notice the difference in sound quality to second you hit “play” and actually hear the music over the bubbling noise of the hot tub or windy backyard patio.

    Why Add an Outdoor Subwoofer?
There’s nothing like listening to your favorite tunes while gardening or relaxing on the deck or by the pool. However, a good outdoor sound system can be transformed into great simply by adding a subwoofer. Unlike satellite outdoor speakers that produce mid and high frequencies, the subwoofer has one job—to produce bass notes. Because the sub handles the low frequencies, your other speakers can focus the frequencies they are designed to reproduce, those mids and highs. The result is a crisper, more immersive experience from music and movie soundtracks.

    What Is an Omni Subwoofer?
Omni-directional speakers radiate sound evenly in a 360° pattern. Omni speakers are well suited for outdoor environments which have acoustic properties that are difficult to control. Unlike your living room where directional speakers distribute sound by reflecting off walls and other surfaces, outdoor speakers function in open spaces without walls to reflect sound or carpet to absorb it. In addition, with directional speakers, you’ll hear sound from the speaker you’re close to but may struggle to hear the other channel. Because Omni speakers disperse sound in all directions, you’ll hear great sound whether you’re sitting down or walking around the backyard.

Do I need special cable to run outdoor speakers?
We strongly recommend our direct burial,CL3/FT4 waterproof cable and wire connectors that are designed for the outdoors. Our speaker wire uses a specially formulated UV-resistant, white polyethylene jacket that provides protection against water damage and allows the cables to withstand extreme weather conditions like rain, snow and high temperatures and incorporate twice the insulation of average cable. If you plan to bury the cable, OSD recommends you bury it 4-6" underground so that it's not visible nor pose a danger of somebody tripping over it. Our speaker cable is ideal to use in direct burial applications. As for the gauge, for runs up to 100 feet for background music, 16-gauge will be fine. If the run is approaching or exceeding 100 feet, we suggest 14-gauge wire.

    Add Volume Controls
Volume controls can be a great addition to a system providing both proper impedance matching and more hands-on local control of the volume in the listening area. We offer a great selection of outdoor volume controls to choose from here!!

Jonathan • 02/27/2023, 5:06:34 PM Is the Forza 8 subwoofer only designed just for high level signal from a two channel stereo amp, or can you connect these straight to a subwoofer amp like the smp 200? If you connect these straight to a subwoofer amp, would the output be more refined than a high signal from a stereo amp would be?
    Customer Service • 03/21/2023, 6:19:33 PM
The dedicated Sub-Amp, like the SMP200 is ideal to work with the FORZA8, which has two 8-ohm leads. You would connect the single +/- a connection from the SMP200 in parallel with the two 8-ohm connections for a 4-ohm 200 watts. It is better to have the crossover control from the SMP200
Jonathan • 03/17/2023, 10:03:29 PM I have the Forza 10 subwoofer which is 4 ohms, and want to add two (2) Forza 8 subwoofers which are 8 ohms on the same amp all together. What is the best way to wire the three subwoofers together to create a 8 or 4 ohm load using the SMP200 subwoofer amp?
    Customer Service • 03/22/2023, 3:18:02 AM
You are limited from adding anyting to the SMP200 and FORZA10 the Outdoor Patio Subwoofer. This creates a 4-ohm load on the SMP200 since the FORZA is 4-ohms as well. You could be creative and add a second SMP200 along with two FORZA8 outdoor Omni Directional Subwoofer. Each of these subs feature a stero right and left input. In order to maximixzethe output yiou will need to wire the two subs in Series parallel where you wire in parallel from the SMP200 to the two positive inputs of the first FORZA8. Then connect the Negative from the SMP200 to the two negatives of the second FORZA8. Last connection has the double Positive to Neagtive in Series between the two FORZA8. I will send you a diagram in a seperate email. TimL/3-23
Jon • 03/23/2023, 9:46:13 PM I want to add four of these, one at each corner of the pool area. How would you wire four of these together on one subwoofer amp without running two separate subwoofer amps?
    Customer Service • 03/31/2023, 4:08:28 PM
Hi Jon: There is away to do it. I can send you a diagram showing two each wired in Series Parallel. Then wiring the two pairs in parallel to a SMP500 DSP Subwoofer Amp. Regards Tim L
Clark Sehon • 04/23/2023, 6:14:21 PM Can I use this sub with a Fosi Audio BT30A amp for outdoor speakers? The amp has 2 sub outputs, one red and one black. Do I twist the two reds coming out of the speaker for the positive on the amp and tie the two blacks together for the negative on the amp?
    Customer Service • 05/22/2023, 3:19:45 PM
Hi Clark: The Subwoofer has a crossover and Thru output to connect your satellite speakers to the FORZA8. So join the right and left speaker output (four conductors +/-) to the black and red of each four-conductor cable coming from the bottom of the FORZA8 enclosure. Then connect your satellites to the yellow (+) and green (-) of each four conductor cables. If you are connecting the satellites directly to the Right and Left speaker outputs, then you click the black and red sub outs to the FORZA8, but you will need to connect both the right and left red and black input connectors in parallel. So you click the three red wires together and the three black wires together. Finally, you would tape off the yellow and green conductors(not being used).
Frank • 05/18/2023, 7:56:03 PM I want to connect this to a receiver that doesn’t have a subwoofer output. So I’m going to wire it to the left and right B speaker outputs then to two Polk autrium 5 speakers but the receiver is not LFE will it work
    Customer Service • 06/05/2023, 5:05:07 PM
Hi Frank: Just to let you know, once you connect the FORZA8 and the pair of Atrium5 speakers, the impedance load on your Speaker B output will be 4 ohms. Many amps will not play below a 4-ohm load, so you cannot play Speaker A and Speaker B together. An exception to that rule would be our AMP300 which is stable down to 2 ohms. Tim L
