OSD Audio BOM4.1 Wireless Bluetooth Outdoor System
The OSD Audio BOM4.1 Wireless Bluetooth Outdoor System is featuring an 8.0' Subwoofer enclosure with Built-in Bluetooth Receiver and (2) 60W per Channel Internal Digital Stereo Amplifiers. Ideal for powering any two pair of outdoor speakers
Current Bluetooth Systems
Typically, Bluetooth Outdoor stereo systems feature:
- A Master Speaker with a built-in Bluetooth Receiver
- A Stereo Amplifier with one channel connected to the internal 2-way speaker
- A speaker wire connecting the Master to the Satellite Speaker
So you have a fundamental Right and Left Stereo system. There is no way to connect a second pair of speakers or add any type of Subwoofer. So, it is a closed system limiting the customer's ability to expand.
Wireless Bluetooth 4.1 Subwoofer and Multiple Satellite System
The BOM4.1 Revolves around the 8.0" 100Watt Outdoor Subwoofer Enclosure as the CenterPoint of the System. The Two 60- Watt Stereo Digital Amplifiers allow you to connect to two to four pairs of 8-ohm speakers to the system.
Maximum Flexibility
You can select two identical pairs of speakers, either two pairs of Rock Speakers, Patio Speakers, Outdoor Garden Pendant Speakers, or even two pairs of Planter Speakers. Or mix and match different pairs of speakers depending on your application. Each of the four speakers receives power by its own Digital Amplifier per channel. And who does not want more bass in their system?
All-Weather Components
IP67-rated power supply and a sturdy ABS plastic Subwoofer enclosure withstands hot, cold easily pairs with your tablet or smartphone
Typical Outdoor Bluetooth Speaker Kits feature a stereo pair of speakers with no ability to add additional speakers or Subwoofer. The BOM4.1 creates the foundation for a complete outdoor backyard Bluetooth system, starting with its Green Enclosure with Powered Subwoofer and the two Stereo Amplifiers. Each is capable of powering a single pair of either 4-ohm/ 8-ohm speakers or two pairs of 8-ohm speakers per Amplifier.
The speakers can be all the same type; Rock, Patio, and Garden Pendant Speakers, or you can mix and match depending on your application. You could connect a pair of Rock speakers in the yard and a couple of Patio speakers around the deck as an example.
The Internal Bluetooth Wireless Receiver connects with any Bluetooth enabled device providing a wide range of streaming music and Internet radio stations.
OSD Audio's BOM4.1
- All-weather Bluetooth® Powered Subwoofer/Satellite System
- Featuring an 8" Weatherproof Outdoor Subwoofer Enclosure with built-in Bluetooth Receiver
- 100-Watt High-Efficiency Digital Dedicated Subwoofer Amplifier
- Two internal 60Watt Digital Full Range Stereo Amplifiers rated at 4-Ohms
This outdoor in-ground (Suggested a hole 3 to 4 inches deep) Subwoofer includes an all-weather Green Enclosure. Included in the kit is a Heavy-Duty Weather Resistant Power Supply IP-67 certified for a 100% seal from Sand and Debris (#6). The (#7) means the Power supply can be Immersed in water up to a meter in depth.
The BOM4.1 Features an Internal Bluetooth 4.0 Receiver that outputs its signal to the two 60-Watt Stereo Internal Digital Power Amplifiers.
BOM4.1 All-weather Bluetooth® Powered Subwoofer features a 360-degree Omni Directional Design adding flexibility in placement for the Subwoofer in the final Sub/Satellite setup.
Connections from the BOM4.1 include two four-conductor (Right & Left +/-) speaker wires 10 to 14 feet in length, one from each stereo amplifier to connect to a 4/8-ohm pair of speakers. Alternatively, two pairs of 8-ohm speakers can be connected to each Amplifier.
A 5.25" pair of Rock speakers (RS550), Patio Speakers (PA525), or Garden Speakers (PS520 Planter) are an ideal match for the BOM4.1 either two pairs of each or a mix of 2 out of the three choices. Our Garden Pendant Speakers, including the LS-2, LS-3, and FORZA5 (two or Four pairs depending on the project), create an excellent opportunity as well.
Ensuring Sufficient Wireless System Coverage
Outdoor systems are all about coverage and only the BOM4.1 ability to tailor the system optimized to your application. The BOM4.1 includes Bluetooth source connectivity with up to a 75-ft range providing the ideal plug and play Sub/Satellite system.
Wiring the BOM4.1 system is relatively simple; The AC Power Supply connects to the Subwoofer Enclosure, giving power to the internal Bluetooth Receiver, the 4.1 Channel Power Amplifier. The speaker wires coming from the bottom of the Enclosure connect to the two or four pairs of Satellite speakers.
Now you are ready to pair your Bluetooth enabled device (smartphone or tablet) to the Bluetooth Receiver in the BOM4.1 Enclosure. In no time, you will be streaming music to a perfectly matched system for your outdoor application.
Enjoy More Music with an Outdoor Subwoofer
Building a system starting with a dedicated powered Subwoofer with a built-in Bluetooth Receiver and two stereo amplifiers on board can provide a great acoustically balanced outdoor Sub/Satellite system.
A subwoofer is a dedicated bass speaker designed to handle the low-frequency effects in audio systems and is the .1 of the 4.1 found in the BOM4.1. The result is less roll-off and more balanced and abundant sound, so the next time you're in the hot tub, backyard, or pool, the music will conquer the ambient noise.
What Is IP67 Rated?
If you're investing in an outdoor speaker, be sure that claims of waterproof or water resistance have an IP rating. IP67 is an International Protection Rating given to products that meet specific criteria.
The BOM4.1 includes an IP67 rated power supply that is 100% protected against solid objects like dirt, dust, and sand and test to work for at least 30 minutes after being immersed in water up to 1 meter. It is essential in backyards with pools and sprinklers where splashes can damage or short out the power supply.
Bluetooth Flexibility
Every environment is different, but we've tested our outdoor Bluetooth subwoofer unobstructed up to 75 feet and receive a clear audio signal. Your situation may have trees and other factors that can inhibit Bluetooth transmission. Still, line-of-sight communication is generally between 35 and 75 feet, and pairing takes only a few minutes.
Be sure the Bluetooth device and the speakers are full power or fully charged. Control the BOM4.1 from the Bluetooth Enabled Device. The speakers will output a Bluetooth Sync code that will be received by the Bluetooth device, and settings such as volume, mute, etc., are controlled directly from your phone, tablet, or another Bluetooth-enabled device.
