Speaker cable that runs underground is often subjected to more hazards than running cable inside. That's why we recommend CL-rated direct burial cable terminated with our Aqua Blue waterproof connectors. These inexpensive and easy to connect devices are suitable for all wire splices, especially those exposed to condensation, water, vapors, dust and dirt and are excellent insurance to protect your wire from corrosion or damage. Note: the connector accepts 12 ga wire or under; however, it could fit 10 ga cable if needed as it has a wide opening.

I currently have 14 gauge speaker wire run thru my patio roof and it goes thru a control box. I want to move the speaker another 10 feet out , but I do not have any slack in wire. Is it ok to splice the other 10 feet on to this current run using these connectors ?
1 Answer
Hi Steve: You will have no problem splicing another 10 feet or more, you will want to match the cable so use 14 gauge as well. The Aqua Blue weatherproof wire nut connectors for the splice will work great. TL/4015

I am looking to buy indoor/outdoor speaker wire and running it about 150 feet. What gauge would you recommend and how much does it cost? Thanks, bert
1 Answer
Hi Bert, We offer 100 feet of 16-2 for $19.95. This cable is located in audio video cables section. If your longest run is 100-150, go with a 14 gauge. If your run exceeds 150 feet, consider using a 12 gauge cable. CL/MA 1315
