Features & Specifications

8" ceiling speakers, this new construction bracket is installed when the studs or joists are exposed before mounting the sheet rock or ceiling tiles. New construction brackets are not required when you purchase OSD Audio speakers as all models feature dog-eared clamps that secure speakers to the ceiling. However, new construction brackets do provide additional support and allow you to determine the exact placement of the speaker while providing a template to cut the mounting hole.

Cut-Out Hole Diameter: 9.5"

Will these work with Monoprice Caliber In-Ceiling Speakers, 8in Fiber 2-Way? Overall D: °11.3" x 3.6" (°287 x 91 mm) Cutout: °9.69" (°246mm)
1 Answers
HI Nick: The NCCB8 will not work with your Monoprice speakers. The cutout is not large enough for those speakers. The NCCB8 is only 9.5". You need 9.69". The NCCB8-K is actually what you need at 9.8" but these are currently out of stock. New shipment due by February 2018. TL/4724

Will this work with Yamaha NSIC800WH?
1 Answers
Hi Keyur: The NCCB8 would be too small with a cutout of 9 3/8. You will need at least 9 3/4". So look at our NCBC8-K; New Construction Bracket Pair For 8" In Ceiling Speaker with a cutout of 9.8" TL/4582

Will these fit Polk RC80i speakers? Thanks

HI Lee: The cutout dimensions are the same 9 3/8" so the bracket should work for your application. TL/4584

This item is sold in pair (2 brackets?), so if i have 6 yamaha speakers then how many bracket should i order? Thanks
1 Answers
Hi Tom: Are these six speakers different then the 6.5" 3 way speakers you were asking about the NCBC8 K new Construction Bracket? If so you will need 3 pair of these for your six speakers. But the NCBC8 K will work for the NS-IW280CWH. TL/4554

Does this bracket also fit your ICE850 speaker? If not, do you have a bracket that does?
1 Answers
Hi Ashton: Yes this is the only New Construction Bracket that will work for the ICE850. It is 3/8: wider than the actual speaker so there will be a small gap but should not affect you installation. TL/4506

We are still concerned about our installation. The mount we have is a circle with one side flat and smooth. The other side has a inner ring that sticks out about a 1/2 inch. Is the part that sticks out more supposed to face out? Our rep today says the inner part (with the lip that sticks out) is supposed to be facing outward. She has been very helpful and knows here product but since the pictures I see look different than what we have (same part number NCCB8) I just need to know ASAP because the drywall in 2 days. Circle and the 2 wire mesh mounts. The picture shows the way we mounted it...this inner ring/lip facing out.

Hi Eric, The lip needs to be turned downward into the actual hole cut out on the drywall or tile. The wings that snap into the center ring work better when the ring is turned down. TL/MAG

NCCB8 Speaker brackets
They are easy to install and look very sturdy. OSD confirmed I can use them for the ACE -850MK speakers since they are out of the bracket usually used for these speakers.
ProsEasy to install Great for new construction. Sheet rock guys will cut the hole for me if the bracket is up. Great price.

Hard to beat value - install tips
Hard to beat, as similar products can cost several times as much for no apparent reason. The rings are plastic and the straps are metal, which makes the mounting nice and sturdy. I used a pneumatic stapler to attach to joists and they went on easy. The total lack of instructions is frustrating because they can click together multiple ways. Here's the correct way: The side of the ring with the lip that sticks out faces DOWN (eg, it will poke thru the drywall hole). The flat side of the ring faces up (into the attic/crawlspace). The arms then click onto the ring from the top, so that the plastic bulge is on the top of the ring. Otherwise, the plastic bulge where the arms snap to the ring will be on the bottom, and the drywall will hit it, making drywall installation impossible. Would be a 5-star product if they just had one sheet of paper with a picture on it as instructions.

Very good product
These were very helpful and good quality. However, it would be good if they added instructions. The straps can attach two ways (from both the top and bottom). Unfortunately, I attached the straps incorrectly and had to re-do all of them.
