8" ceiling speakers, this new construction bracket is installed when the studs or joists are exposed before mounting the sheet rock or ceiling tiles. New construction brackets are not required when you purchase OSD Audio speakers as all models feature dog-eared clamps that secure speakers to the ceiling. However, new construction brackets do provide additional support and allow you to determine the exact placement of the speaker while providing a template to cut the mounting hole.

Cut-Out Hole Diameter: 9.5"

Justin Byers • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM Q Can you give me the exact inside dimension (diameter across) of the inside of these brackets?
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
A the NCCB8 measures 9 5/8"
Eric Van Cleave • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM Q We are still concerned about our installation. The mount we have is a circle with one side flat and smooth. The other side has a inner ring that sticks out about a 1/2 inch. Is the part that sticks out more supposed to face out? Our rep today says the inner part (with the lip that sticks out) is supposed to be facing outward. She has been very helpful and knows here product but since the pictures I see look different than what we have (same part number NCCB8) I just need to know ASAP because the drywall in 2 days. Circle and the 2 wire mesh mounts. The picture shows the way we mounted it...this inner ring/lip facing out.

A Hi Eric, The lip needs to be turned downward into the actual hole cut out on the drywall or tile. The wings that snap into the center ring work better when the ring is turned down. TL/MAG

Eric Van Cleave • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM Q Once again I am really confused...the bracket in the picture is NOT what we have. We received a circle with 2 screen mesh parts that attach. It is not a octagon shape as the one shown. I attached a picture from the other web page in my previous email. Before I go rip out the ones I have installed now, screws, staples, insulation etc... I hope you looked at the picture I sent and before we get out in the cold and spend another day taking down the ones installed and turning them it is going to be correct. If you look at this picture I attached you will see the side that is showing is now facing out of the wall...are your sure I have to turn it around? Enlarge the image to see in detail. Our customer is ordering a lot of equipment from OSD for this new house and this is going to be a major task to change these now. (At least Crutchfields stuff has a sheet with installation instructions and screws and not just 3 parts in a box.) It snaps in either way too so that makes it really confusing. I will be on site at 10AM central time and can be reached at 501-915-2816. I convinced this client to buy all the items from OSD instead of Crutchfield so dont let me down. Now I hope the 8 room audio kit is going to be OK and the volume controls fit in a standard electrical gang box.

A Eric, The images we use online for the brackets are just generic bracket images. They are not specific to each model. I understand how this can be confusing or alarming when you receive something that looks different. However I assure you, you have the correct ones. The official answer to your mounting question is that the smooth/flush side of the bracket should be facing down or out into the room. The side with the lip faces in or up into the wall/ceiling.
