The ISS8 High Power Speaker Selector is an easy and effective way to distribute music to up to eight listening zones (four pairs of speakers) and play any pair, a combination of pairs, or all pairs simultaneously. Easy to connect with a low-profile design that easily fits into a cabinet or equipment rack.n choose. Front-panel push buttons let you quickly turn each pair of speakers on or off independently, and die cut labels fit within the recessed area on the buttons for easy labeling of each zone. A passive device that does not require power to operate, the ISS8 also includes impedance-matching circuitry so you can safely drive all eight pairs at once without damaging your receiver or amp. Designed with quality in mind, the ISS8 is constructed of 16-gauge steel with a durable black powder coating and gray silk-screening.

    Features
    • Distributes audio from a receiver or amp to multiple pairs of speakers
    • Send one signal to up to four pairs of speakers in different listening zones
    • Impedance protection allows a single amplifier to safely power multiple speakers
    • Removable input/output connectors allow easy cable termination
    • Includes on/off switches for each zone
    • Low prolife with beautiful black brushed aluminum finish
    • Works with any amplifier
    • Includes a two-year warranty
    Upgraded Input/Output Connectors
The ISS8 is easy to install (even for non-technical types) and accepts up to 14-gauge cable. The European-style input/output connectors are removable, which gives you better leverage when terminating cable than traditional spring-loaded terminals. This speaker selector takes either four or two conductor speaker wire stripped at the ends that are inserted into the screw-down input/output terminals for a tight fit to ensure the best signal transmission and sound quality possible.

Protecting Valuable Audio Equipment with Impedance Protection
When connecting multiple speakers to a receiver or amplifier, you need to stay above the amp's minimum load requirements. Going below the impedance rating can overheat or even damage expensive equipment. The ISS8 includes selectable impedance matching protection circuitry that allows a single amplifier to safely power several pairs of speakers. The speaker selector handles 140 watts per channel total input power without the manual protection engaged and 70 watts per channel with the protection engaged.

Joe • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM Has anyone else have problems with this catching on fire? Had only 2 sets of speakers running through this when it caught on fire not flames but smoldering fire. What is a better replacement?
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Joe, Thank you for contacting us. That doesn't sound good. What kind of amplifier were you running to the ISS8 and what type of speakers off the selector? -BM 2387
Brian Victorero • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM I bought 6 ICE810 and the 8 Zone Multi Room Audio Kit. I'm finally getting around to wiring this up and realized that these speakers do not have stereo input, however, the kit that I was sold requires stereo output. Is there a way to make my system work? I can only put 1 speaker in each room. Can I bridge the L/R outputs on the zones with this speaker selector.
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Brian, The ICE810's are mono requiring 2 to be used in pairs for stereo applications. You can use a 4 zone speaker selector to control the 3 pairs or you can use each of the 6 ICE810's in mono with a 6 zone selector. If you use as 6 zone, you will have 6 additional un-used outputs for future expansion. CS 2561
Nathan • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM Can you hook up in-wall volume controls with this speaker selector in 1 or more zones? and I also want to know if my Yamaha HTR-5440 AV receiver has enough power to have with particular speaker selector. or will I have to get a amp to assist with the power? thanks so much.
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Nathan, Yes - this speaker selector actually works best with impedance matching volume controls on all zones that will be active. The reason being that the impedance matching volume controls (ex. SVC300) do a more efficient job at controlling impedance than the selector does. Thus, if you run 8 SVC300s set to "8x", and disable the impedance protection on the selector, you will get the optimal output of power from your amp. Regarding your receiver, I wouldn't recommend it. Typically this kind of receiver can only handle an 8ohm load which you won't necessarily get even with impedance matching. On top of that, you wouldn't have enough watts to safely power all speakers. You should run our AMP300 to the ISS8 and an SVC300 for each zone. You can still run your receiver to the amp as a music source via RCA cable. Let us know if you have any further questions. Thanks. -BM 2616
Jim • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM Would like to know if the OSD DSM^ Dual 4X or IS S8 *Zone Speaker Selector will work with the following: 4 Bose 301 Series IV indoor 1 AudioSource SW Two powered subwoofer indoor 2 RS670 Outdoor Rock Speakers Run off Nakamichi RE-1 Receiver (110 watts per channel 8ohms / 140wps 4ohms). Open to suggestions. Thanks, Jim
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Jim, The Bose speakers should be fine. Does the subwoofer have a built in crossover? Is it powered and you're just trying to send audio signal via speaker level input or are you trying to power the sub with a stereo amp? If it's a passive sub then it won't work unless it has a built in crossover to filter out the highs. If it's a powered sub and you're just trying to send audio to speaker level input, that may work but we haven't tested it. You probably won't be able to run these off your current receiver as it's only meant to run at 8ohms. I would recommend running an external amp from that receiver, such as our AMP200 or AMP300, and run the speaker selector from either of these amps. Let us know if you have any further questions. Mark • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM I have a Yamaha RS-500 (75 watts). With this switch can I run all 8 sets of speakers at the same time? And, what does the "manual protection to the amp" described in the listing mean?
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Mark, I wouldn't recommend it. Typically you're gonna need a higher powered amp to run this many speakers, such as our AMP300. Running that many speakers off a standard receiver is very risky and can lead to damaged equipment.
