    Impedance-Matching Protection Safeguards Amplifiers

Ken • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM I have a 260 W amp with matching 4 ohm speakers and a sub woofer and would like to add outside speaker. Would this unit work with what I have and if so could you recommend a set of outside water proof speakers that will work

Hi Ken: Your question creates additional questions. What 240 Watt Amplifier do you have (Brand and model number)? 4-ohms speakers (Brand and Model), one or two pairs? What is your preference for outdoor speakers, Rocks, Garden or Patio speakers? The SSVC4 will work for your application but need to no more so I can help connect your system. tim@osdaudio.com TL/5460

I have a Samsung MX-E650CB advertised 260 Watt receiver/ Amp, with 2, same brand matching 4 Ohm speaker and a sub woofer. I want to add two more outside speakers and possibly more later on And want to know if this speaker control will work with what I have
Mike • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM I Just hooked up this product.  I have it running 3 sets of outdoor speakers.  I pair of Definitive aw 6500s and 2 pairs of Advent Marbl2s.  It's being driven by an old 50-watt receiver.  Zones 1 & 2 work great but I can't get zone 3 to operate.  When I switch the wires around I can get the zone 3 speakers to work from the zone 1 terminals. Any thoughts?
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Mike:First, try connecting the Zone 3 wires to Zone 4. See if that is working ok. Internally there are two jumpers that handle the Impedance Matching per zone (right and left transformers). There is a possibility that the jumpers came loose on Zone 3. I am going to send you an image of the internal setup of the SSVC4. There are 6 pins per each of the eight channel. The Pin setting should be 4X pins 4 and 5. There are 12 small screws that hold the cover in place. I would first determine if Zone 4 works. I would remove the cover (if you are comfortable with that) just unplug the input/output connectors before starting. It is a passive switching box with no AC Power Supply to deal with. Check if the jumpers are in place. Then let me know if that is the issue.tim@osdaudio.com
Ed Colman • 06/04/2021, 1:19:30 PM I have two Niles SI-250 amps that deliver 50 watts/ch at 8 ohms, 75 watts/ch at 6 ohms and 100 watts/ch at 4 ohms. I have 4 pairs of Yamaha NS-AW150 speakers which are 6 ohm, 120W max, 35W nominal. I plan on hooking up one amp to each input on the SSVC4, and one pair of speakers to each zone on the SSVC4. I'll run zones 1 & 2 on one amp (A source) and zones 3 & 4 on the other amp (B source), both amps playing same input signal. the question is, how do I set the internal jumpers on the SSVC4 for this setup?
    Customer Service • 06/07/2021, 3:51:23 AM
Hi Ed: The safe bet is selecting 2X pins 2 and 3. But the Niles amps claim to go down to 2.67 ohms, and you are only powering two pairs for each so that you could go down to 1X pins 1 and 2 on all four zones, both left and right channels. TimL/6-6-21
Rod Sharp • 12/04/2022, 9:08:11 PM Do you by chance have the Room Label Sheets that ship with the SSVC4 available to sell separately? I am relabeling a couple of rooms and no longer have the original sheet of room labels. Thank you!
    Customer Service • 03/15/2023, 6:11:43 PM
Hi Rod: We do not sell these sheets separately but have been selling them for many years and may have some available in the RMA department. Call 562-697-2600 and press 3 for product support. TL/2023
