The SSVC4 is low-profile table top volume controls with individual A/B input selectors for each listening zone. The SVC300, a 300 watt autoformer volume control is utilized in each SSVC for uncompromised sound quality and performance. The screw down terminals to 14 gauge cable. The SSVC's feature 16 gauge steel construction with our durable black wrinkle powder coating and gray silk-screening. Compatible with all high-power amps up to 300W, the front-mounted master A/B switch allows you to toggle between two audio sources; for instance, switch from music streamed from your tablet or receiver with just a push of a button.

A Hello, Not familiar with that amp, but this unit can only take 300w max per channel.

A Hi Tom, This model may have gone through a redesign over the last couple of years, so I would say purchasing a new one would be best, because you also have a new warranty buying new.
Jonathan • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM Q I've got an Onkyo TX-NR626 receiver with powered zone 2. I am currently using this to drive a pair of patio speakers (AP65), but would like to expand to another 2 sets as I have a long patio (AP450s, probably). I'm assuming when you split the power so many ways, the power to any one pair decreases, yes? Should I be looking at a standalone amp to feed the SSVC4 from the line out on my receiver? Thanks, Jonathan

A Hi Jonathan, Yes it would be a good idea to have a separate amp to use to power your speakers if you are planning to add more to your set up. Using a speaker selector on a receiver could eventually cause some damage to the receiver. Check out our AMP200, that would be a good addition to your setup. CS 3510

A Hi Allan, It really depends on your amplifier if it can handle a 4 and/or 8 ohm load. You would want your speakers to match with what your amp can handle. More than likely you'll want to change the impedance for the 4 ohm speakers. CS 3647
Joshua • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM Q Please let me know what I should set inner switches to for 6 ohm speakers. ALL of my speakers are 6 ohm. Upgrading to Marantz sr7010(has ohm selection for 4, 6, 8) with outlaw 5000 amp for full 7.2.4 atmos and will use ssvc for switching and activating outdoor and front room towers (back/listening room is all ELAC) for all channel stereo 11.2 (Oppo bdp-103d media player) I have read the reviews, q&a's, and manual and notice ya'll have great customer service and answer that question. But didn't see anything about 6 ohm. Looking VERY forward to testing! Haven't done an upgrade like this in years! Wallet keeps reminding me!

A Hi Joshua: Technically, when calculating the impedance setting on the Internal Impedance matching Volume Controls you have to base everything on 8 ohms. If you have 4 pairs of 8 ohm speakers you set the jumper to pins 4 and 5 for 4X. If you had 3 pairs of 8 ohm speakers and a single pair of 4 ohm speakers you have to treat the 4 ohm setting as (2) 8 ohm speakers making it appear to be (5) 8 ohm speakers. So the next highest setting is Pins 5 & 6 for 8X. So based upon that if you connect all four zones with 6 ohm speakers (4) x 1.5 or (6) 8 ohm speakers so 8X would be the safe bet. But you are using higher quality components that feature High Current amplification (like our AMP200 and AMP300) which I would recommend setting the pins to 4 & 5 for 4x. Note, I believe the SSVC4 comes from the factory with the jumpers set to pins 2 & 3 for a 2X setting. You will have to remove the cover (making sure nothing is powered up maybe even disconnecting all the input and output connectors) and change all the jumpers to 4X (pins 4&5). It is also a good idea to turn off a zone using the individual zone on/off switch rather than using the volume control to turn the sound down where you can no longer hear the music.
