In the product description for this bracket, it says the cut out is 7 3/4", but in one of your Q&A replies, it say it is 8 1/8" cut out.  Which is it?  I'm looking to use the ACE670 speakers which say t use a 8 1/8" cut out bracket.  Is this the one to use?

Hi Arvind:

We have a New Construction Bracket in our OSD Black Series. It has a cut out of 8.3," which is a little over .185" wider than the cutout of the ASCE670. It will work for the ACE670. Please contact our Customer Service for pricing and availability.

Will his work with the YAMAHA NS-IW280C 6.5" 3-Way In-Ceiling Speaker Pair
1 Answer
Hi AC: I believe the Yamaha has a cutout of 9 7/16 to big for the current version of the NCCB-6K which has an opening of 7 3/4" and previously 9.25" still too small. TL/5116 We have another series of in-ceiling speakers that features an NC6A but it too is limited to 8.25"

Will these work for the MK 650?
1 Answer
Hi Ryan: The current models have a cutout size of 7.75" so will not work with the MK650 (at 7 7/8"). We do have a substitute under our Premium line, the Black Series. They have a newer model, the NC6A with a larger opening to match our angled speakers 8.25" that will work with the MK650. TL/5109

I read one answer that said the id of the cut-out hole is 7-3/4". Yet the drawing seems to show an id of 8-1/8". I'm considering using these for some speakers that require an opening of 8-1/8". Will these brackets work for those speakers?
1 Answer
Hi Phil: The Bracket referred to in the answer was the NCCB6 which has a cut out hole of 7 3/4". The Bracket you are looking a the NCCB6-K is 8 1/8" which matches your Monoprice exactly. In the images you will see a list of speakers that the bracket works for including the MK650 which is 8 1/8" as well. I not sure if we currently have stock. Otherwise no problem for your needs. I need to install some HTD 6.5" in-ceiling speakers. Will those speakers work with these brackets? Will these brackets work with any 6.5" speaker?
1 Answer
Hi Phil, It is possible that they could work but it really depends on the cut out of the speakers you plan on using. The inside diameter of the NCCB6 is 7.75" so you wouldn't want to use a speaker with a cut out larger than that. CS 3645

How is the bracket attached to the wall? Is it the flat side of the construction bracket that faces out from the wall? The instructions don't make it obvious which side should be on the visible end of the drywall.
1 Answer
Hi John, Use the flat side against the dry wall or ceiling tile. The dog ears will fit over the lip when you install the speaker. The bracket helps secure the speaker and acts as a template when cutting your hole. Otherwise you can mount the speakers without the brackets. TL
