Damian • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM Hi Interested in 6 of these speakers (AP840) for an outdoor restaurant patio (hall like setting approx 60’ long). If I connected 6 of these @ 25W a speaker plus 20% for line loss I should need about a 250W 70v amp. Is that correct and what you recommend? If so what amp on your site do you recommend? Thank you, Damian.
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Damian: We recommend our PAM245 Amplifier/Mixer combo with 240 watts. The AP850 set to 25W would equal 150 watts. 80% of 240 is 192 Watts. You could add one or even 2 more AP850 and still be in the ballpark at 200Watts. Great choice of speakers, but check out the features on the PAM245 with 5 switchable zones 3 mic inputs (mic one has priority override), 3 Aux inputs plus pre-amp outs for expansion. Plus it includes RS232 and IR control (includes IR Remote). Good luck TL/5066
Hailey • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM AP850 1. What volume control is recommended to run a pair of these from an amp200? And at what setting 2. Can one 850 cover a 500sf zone by itself? Or do they need to be paired?
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
HI Haley: I am assuming you have a 20 ft x 25 ft room. I would recommend a single pair to start mounting them around 10 to 12 foot apart. If you connect the single pair or even add a second pair of AP850 (to Speaker B), you do not need Impedance matching Volume Controls with the AMP200. The VKR120 Resistor based Volume Control has a Broader Frequency Response with no high or low-end roll-off, so would be a better choice for your application. There is also a new slider style as well, the SKR120. The Outdoor version is the OVC305R. You should also consider adding our New Pre-1 Preamplifier (with 1.5V output gain) to the AMP200. The High Current AMP200 is built to run all day long at 4 ohms (2 pairs of 8-ohm speakers in parallel). TL/5242
Bryan Talley • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM Hello, I have a Sonos Connect:Amp and I am looking for outdoor speakers to use it with. The Sonos spec sheet says 55w x2 at 8 ohms and 110w x2 at 4 ohms.... I’m sorry but ohms and powers ratings calculations confuse me. Will this amp have enough power for these AP850’s or will it be lacking? Thank you
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Bryan: A pair of AP850 will work just fine with the SONOS Connect Amplifier. That would be an 8-ohm load which SONOS is designed to work. The speaker also has a high sensitivity; 90dB, 1 Watt at 1 Meter. So they are very efficient so take less power to drive them. Good match TL/5356
Robert • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM Is the 180w power rating for each speaker or for the pair wired together. Because in the description it says 90x2 on the listed power handling?
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
HI Robert: The 180 Watts is the peak rating meaning it can run up to 180 watts for short bursts and rated at 90 Watts RMS continuous power that it can handle. Our Award-winning AP650; 150 Watts Peak power and 75 Watts RMS. Note the AP850 has a sensitivity of 90 dB at 1 Watt measured at 1 Meter which is very efficient and takes less than half the power of a speaker rated at 87dB. A good choice TL/5357
Harry • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM Help please ! I have a 5000 sq. ft. boat house to fill with music. Basically , this is a large covered deck over the water. I am using a Denon AVR 1802 as my source , with which I mostly use my ipod or radio. I used the Denon for 4 Klipsch AW 400, 50 watts at 8 ohms . I am upgrading to 4 Klipsch AW 650, 85 watts at 8 ohms. The 4 aw 650 will be in the main seating area and the aw 400 will be moved to other areas , in pairs. I was also thinking of adding an svs 2000 subwoofer, or Klipsch equal. Do you think I will need the sub ? What would you recommend to drive all these speakers and sub ? Keep in mind I will probably be adding more speakers , 2-3 more pairs of the smaller ones. I would also like to have the zones on different volume controls, 6-8 zones in stereo , if possible, and near source. If you could include diagram of the items needed and wiring diagrams to units and speakers and sub , would really help. I can view and print from pfd . Thank you in advance for any recommendations on sources wiring diagrams needed.

Hi Harry:I have a complete proposal for your project headed to you by your email. It is a PDF with two wiring diagram options. I have also included a recommendation for Amplifier (AMP300), Speaker Selectors (either SSVC6 or DSM6), Patio Speakers (AP850) and a dedicated Subwoofer Amplifier and our new Outdoor patio/deck Subwoofer (SMP-500 DSP and the FORZA10 Sub). There also a recommendation for our NERO Link as an additional option to your iPod and Radio through your DENON receiver. Please review and let me what you think?TL/5530
