I want to use these by my pool and I have 12v running to lights. Can I use 12v to power these? Are there speakers that are powered by 12v?

Hi Gene,
These speakers need to be powered by the power supply that is packaged with them. I'm not aware of any speakers that run off 12v. If you have a power outlet, you can run an extension chord to the power supply that runs these speakers.

are they waterproof?

They are weather-resistant but not 100% water-proof, meaning you can have them outdoors in harsh weather, but you don't want to drop them in a pool! Enjoy!

Received the BTR-150 set as a gift for our pool area. I just wanted to double check that they are waterproof as no where on the box or the paperwork inside does it say they are?

Hello Jane,
The Bluetooth Rock Speakers are weather-resistant and are safe to leave outside. If you want to bring them in or cover them up during harsher weather when you wouldn't be playing them, you can as a precautionary measure, but you don't need to.

in 2012 we purchased the WR150 2.4Ghz Wireless Indoor Outdoor Speakers Pair with Remote Control sku # OSD-WR-150-Pair-Brown. We want to expand the sound by adding more speakers. Will these work through the same transmitter we have that came with the first set or will our old speakers route through the transmitter that comes with the BTR-150 wireless bluetooth pair?

Hello Aimee,
These run off an entirely different technology than the WR series did. The WR series ran off 2.4Ghz frequency whereas the BTR series runs off Bluetooth, so unfortunately the answer is no. We may still have some WR-150 left over however. If you are interested, give us a call!

Are these louder than the 8" WR wireless ones you used to sell?

These are comparable to the 5.25" WR speakers we used to sell (WR-150). The BTR-800 would be the replacement for the 8" WR (WR-800).
