    Helpful tips:
    1) Determine the ideal location where the Patio Speakers are not exposed directly to the elements. Note: speakers typically should be placed between 8 to 12 feet apart for proper stereo separation.
    2) The Master Patio Speaker needs to be located near an AC outlet where you can connect the Power Supply to the Master Speaker in order provide the electrical current needed for the Internal Stereo Power Amplifier and Wireless BT Receiver.
    3) The Pairing speaker must be connected to the Master Speaker with the 10-foot Speaker Cable that is supplied with the kit. The length of the speaker cable can be cut down for an exact fit but should not be extended beyond 30 feet

reid • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM will these last if installed in the open?
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Reid: Yes these speakers can be exposed directly to the elements. You will notice they are a totally sealed design with no port to worry about. It has a conformity rating of IPX6 which is very good against both dust and exposure to water. Having said that you typically will get extended life from the speakers if you do shield them from the elements and even take them in side when you know your not going to be using them for extended periods. Good Luck TL/3775
Ryan • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM I want to hide all wires and transformer. Will this affect performance in any way? Will the transformer be affected if it gets covered or even insulated and placed underground?
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Ryan: I believe you are referring to the Power Supply that supplies AC power to the Master Speaker. I believe you can hide it. since It is totally sealed. You can purchase waterproof boxes and your independent hardware store. Good question... TL/3778
christopher keables • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM can a subwoofer be connected to these speakers?
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Christopher: The Bluetooth connection is made between your Bluetooth enabled device and the Bluetooth Receiver built into the Master Speaker that also features a stereo amplifier that drives both the internal speaker and the satellite speaker. There is no way to tap into that signal since the enclosure is sealed. I do not believe their is away to add a sub-woofer in its present setup. It might be interesting if we could design an internal amplifier with a low pass output in addition to the current stereo amp, like 2.1 system. I should look into that. Thanks for the question TL/3808

I DID IT. I opened a brewery and taproom this year. A "bargain" quote from a sound engineer was $6,000 for speakers, amps, etc., etc. That simply was not in our startup budget, so I had to get creative. I installed the bluetooth speakers on the high ceiling in a corner. Then i cut the connecting wire between the two speakers. (shame on me). I ran that into the back of a powered sub as a "speaker-level in" and back out to the other speaker. I realize this would probably cut out the low frequency to that other speaker based on the sub's crossover. But I just went with it. And you know what? It works. It works bloody well. The mid to high range of these speakers is their strong point. The reinforcement from the sub is (IMHO) entirely necessary because they are lacking in low end. It sounds so good and has done so for the last 11 months. And the completely wire free bluetooth connection is so clean and easy. Since I already had a 90 watt sub, my only expense was the speakers. So for $169 I had a really solid sound system. That's way cheaper than $6,000.

If you had a powered subwoofer or subwoofer amplifier with a speaker level input then you could potentially do so. You would run the speaker wire from the main powered patio speaker to the subwoofer inputs and then back out to the second speaker. The amp that they sell here would work. Only downside is that you would need to have the amplifier in a place protected from water/elements. http://www.outdoorspeakerdepot.com/subwoofer-amplifier.html
