Lifetime Tech Support

A team OSD favorite, the AMP200 is a high current 2-channel amp with loads of features. This amp lets you home run (directly to the back of the amp) two pairs of speakers or 4 speakers total. Since it's high current, you can add up to 4 pairs of speakers (8 speakers total) by adding OSD speakers selectors such as the DSM4. Rated at 80 Watts per channel at 8 ohms, the OSD-AMP200 is overload stable so it's ideal for use anywhere clean power is needed. It also includes a dual source switching circuit. When you connect two independent sources number (say your iPod and a TV in another room) source one takes priority when it is active. When source one is turned off, source number two comes on. Note: You cannot play two sources simultaneously. For this feature you need a multi-channel amp like our MX1260. Step-up features rarely seen in amps of this price range include a built-in voltage meter, and front mounted volume and balance trim controls.

High Performance, High Current Power
Rated at 80 watts per channel at 8 ohms, and stable down to 2 ohms, the OSD-AMP200 is overload stable so it's ideal for use anywhere clean power is needed. It also includes a dual source switching automatic circuit. Step-up features rarely seen in amps of this price range include a built-in voltage meter, and front mounted volume and balance trim controls.

AMP200 offers 80 watts RMS per channel of power, with bridgeable outputs for up to 250 watts RMS. A, B, or A+B speaker selector switches make managing connected outputs easy. And a signal-sensing power on feature lets the amp power up automatically when you power on your source.

Automatic Source Switching
The AMP200 can automatically switch between connected sources, thanks to a priority signal-sensing feature. So if you have your iPod connected to input 2, then decide you want to watch a movie, when the DVD player connected to the main input 1 is turned on, the AMP120 will automatically switch to that source.

A variable delay control lets you adjust the amount of time needed to "listen" for a signal from your main input, between 3 and 15 seconds, so things like gaps between CD tracks won't accidentally switch your inputs.

Works with Smartphones, iPods, and Other Portable Devices
Use the AMP200 to connect your Smartphone or other portable music device (as long as you have a headphone jack.) The AMP200 includes two RCA signal level inputs marked as red for right and white for left. Using an RCA-to-mini stereo cable (sold separately), plug the 3.5mm stereo connector into the headphone output of your iPod or other portable device, then connect the RCAs to one of the inputs of the AMP200.

129 Questions asked on 2-Channel 125W Per Channel, High Current Class A/B Stereo Amplifier Toroidal Transformers - AMP200

Ronnie • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM Q Does this amp have auto on/off when it senses input. Want to place inside, but run outside speakers (4 bose freespace 51) with a marine cd/tuner I already have by pool? Would like to use oudoor volume control switch with setup also.
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
A Hi Ronnie: This amp features three turn on options, Manual on/off, Music sensing for auto on/off or a 12 volt trigger that can be hardwired from a receiver that features a 12 volt trigger as well. It will work great with a couple of Volume Controls. Check out our OVC300 (white or Grey) outdoor volume controls. We also sell the CL3 rated speaker wire in 16 and 14 gauge 2 or 4 conductor in 50 and 100 foot cuts ups. Wire is ok for direct burial as well. TL
Yash • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM Q HI, I have 4 ceiling speakers, one sub and only one source. How can I use this device? Thanks
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
A Hi Yash: Based upon your description, the AMP200 is perfect for your application assuming that you have four speakers or two stereo pairs and a powered Sub-woofer and one source. The ceiling speakers can be connected in a couple of ways, first one pair to Speaker A output and the second pair to speaker B output from the AMP200. Then you connect your one source to input number 2. Next, connect the powered Sub-woofer to the pre-amp Output from source 2. This is the ideal setup assuming you are connecting to a Powered Sub woofer. You also have the option of connecting both the pairs of speakers to Speaker A output then connecting your Powered sub-woofer to Speaker B output. In this configuration the sub-woofer would operate when either source was being played. The only downside to connecting the Sub-woofer to the Source 2 output it is only will be active when you use source #2. The sub would not play when Source 1 is playing. This amplifier not only has plenty of power but has lots of flexibility. So I need to know if I have described your setup or is it different in anyway. Please let me know either way. TL
Connor Pyne • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM Q Will this be able to run RSUB300 (HF26) UltraPro Dual Woofer Rock Subwoofer and two RS680 Ultra Sound 6.5" Rock Speakers (HF12) at the same time? Also it looks like you can plug your iPod straight into it would that mean i wouldn't need a stereo receiver?
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
A Hi Connor: You would need to add a dedicated sub-woofer amplifier like our SMP250 with an internal crossover built in to drive the RSUB300. We have a great bundle featuring the RSUB300 and SMP250 combination. The AMP200 would be perfect to drive your two pair of RS680 Rock speakers while allowing you to plug your iPod or laptop with your iTunes library and streaming internet capability directly into the AMP200 as your sources. There are a couple of choices to connect this all together. We would be happy to assist you further if you choose to go OSD branded products. We have the CL3 Direct Burial Speaker Wire along with our Aqua Blue Direct Burial connectors that will help complete the job as well. TL
Gary • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM Q Hello, I currently have a pair of Atrium 45s powered by a Sony receiver. I'd like to add two RS850TT and two AP550TT powered by the AMP200. Will this amp be sufficient for the 4 speakers? Also, what volume control would I use to control the volume of the two sets separately? I'm guessing I'd have to use the speaker in to control the master volume with the sony receiver? Thanks
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
A Gary, I would go with our AMP300 because you have 5 pairs, (each single stereo counts as two) You can use our ISS6 with our OVC300's for volume controls. The speaker selector might be sold out, so you can use our DSM6, or if you wanted the volume controls on the speaker selector rather than going with the OVC100 just get the SSVC6. Take a look at those- If you have further questions give us a call- 1.888.779.4968 CL

Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
A Hi Gary, The AMP200 should have no problem powering the four OSD stereo speakers. I suggest using two of the OVC300 outdoor impedance matching volume controls and connecting one of the OVC300s to control two of the RS850TTs. This would be connected to Speaker Output A of the AMP200. The second OVC300 volume control would connect to the two AP550TTs to Speaker Output B. Make sure to set the impedance matching setting to 4X on both of the OVC300 volume controls. Be sure to set the master gains on the back of the AMP200, while you have the volume knob on the front of the unit, to max or all the way clockwise (making sure your receiver master volume is at your peak acceptable levels). Also make sure your OVC300 volume controls are set to full volume (all the way clockwise). Adjust the right and left gains until the sound starts to clip or distort. Now turn it back slightly. Your volume levels will be set so now the master volume knob (or remote) on the receiver controls the overall volume. The AMP200 is a real workhorse and a true high current amplifier with audiophile sound quality. I am also a big fan of our stereo speakers for outdoor applications. Great choices, we also have CL-3 rated speaker wire (16 or 14 gauge in two and four conductor versions) and our unique Aqua Blue connectors which are all rated for direct burial as well. Thank you for considering OSD branded products. TL
