The ISS8 High Power Speaker Selector is an easy and effective way to distribute music to up to eight listening zones (four pairs of speakers) and play any pair, a combination of pairs, or all pairs simultaneously. Easy to connect with a low-profile design that easily fits into a cabinet or equipment rack.n choose. Front-panel push buttons let you quickly turn each pair of speakers on or off independently, and die cut labels fit within the recessed area on the buttons for easy labeling of each zone. A passive device that does not require power to operate, the ISS8 also includes impedance-matching circuitry so you can safely drive all eight pairs at once without damaging your receiver or amp. Designed with quality in mind, the ISS8 is constructed of 16-gauge steel with a durable black powder coating and gray silk-screening.

    Features
    • Distributes audio from a receiver or amp to multiple pairs of speakers
    • Send one signal to up to four pairs of speakers in different listening zones
    • Impedance protection allows a single amplifier to safely power multiple speakers
    • Removable input/output connectors allow easy cable termination
    • Includes on/off switches for each zone
    • Low prolife with beautiful black brushed aluminum finish
    • Works with any amplifier
    • Includes a two-year warranty
    Upgraded Input/Output Connectors
The ISS8 is easy to install (even for non-technical types) and accepts up to 14-gauge cable. The European-style input/output connectors are removable, which gives you better leverage when terminating cable than traditional spring-loaded terminals. This speaker selector takes either four or two conductor speaker wire stripped at the ends that are inserted into the screw-down input/output terminals for a tight fit to ensure the best signal transmission and sound quality possible.

Protecting Valuable Audio Equipment with Impedance Protection
When connecting multiple speakers to a receiver or amplifier, you need to stay above the amp's minimum load requirements. Going below the impedance rating can overheat or even damage expensive equipment. The ISS8 includes selectable impedance matching protection circuitry that allows a single amplifier to safely power several pairs of speakers. The speaker selector handles 140 watts per channel total input power without the manual protection engaged and 70 watts per channel with the protection engaged.

Eusebio • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM Hello , good evening, my name is Eusebio from Spain I saw this article I want to ask you, if possible use in a manner contrary I have eight amplifiers, and a single pair of speakers I want to connect 8 amplifiers and put them interchangeably with the same speakers it's posible? thank you very much for your attention and best regards

Hello, You're best bet would be the ATM-7
Jim • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM I have a Denon AVR-S510BT recdiver that has a power output of 70 watts and no zone 2. Can I connect the ISS8 to the Front Left and Right speaker connections along with the surround sound speakers?
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Jim: Are you planning to use the ISS8 to power all eight zones? Are you using Impedance matching Volume Controls for each zone or depending on the Internal Protection. I am assuming you are using the Denon as a Stereo Amplifier. Not sure what output you will get from the surrounds. The entry level Home Theater Receivers will definitely want to see a consistent 8 ohm load. Good Luck TL/3725

Mario Abdalah • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM Can I use 2 units to connect 8 pairs of speakers to 8 amps (taking the necessary safeguards obviously), as shown in the accompanying photo. I own about 6 different amps and 8 different pairs of speakers.
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Mario: These boxes could be connected as you have illustrated since they really are just passive switchers that could go both ways. My concern is with the speaker selector box with the speakers connected. Whether it is the six in your picture or 8 as you noted in your description. If you were to run more than 2 or 3 pair of speakers at a time the internal protection would need to enabled (button pushed in). Note when the internal protection is enabled the power rating is cut in half. Also note; I would leave the Protection disabled on the Speaker selector connected to the 6 amps. You would only need a ISS6 and ISS8 for the speakers. But checkout our TSM8 which features selectable protection so you could set the protection to the actual number of speakers you are wanting to play. It also features Dual Source which might even give you more flexibility. Either way you will want to use the internal protection on the speaker selector connected to the speakers. Interesting setup, would like to know what else makes up your system. tim@osdaudio.com TL/3980
Ruby • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM I am thinking of buying this unit to power 16 speaker. Here is my setup :-- each room have 2 speakers and 2 wire cable comes from both speakers to my keypad location and at keypad location I had 2 -2cable speaker wire from 2 speakers and one 4 conductor cable which run from keypad location to back of my cabinet ( where I'll install this unit along with yahama rx667 or rx740 receiver with zone 2 feature. I Am also planning to use sv100 or sv300 keypad along with this unit. So I wanna know if my yahama receiver is ok to power 8 zones. Also what is the diff between Iss8 and dss8 model ? Which one suits my setup ? Please advice.
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Ruby: Most if not all Receiver manufacturers do not recommend connecting multiple speakers to the ZONE 2 output on the Yamaha V-667 (also labeled presence). This is recommended for a single pair of speakers only. Adding multiple speakers puts too much strain with the single power supply that powers all 7 channels. The unit does have a Zone 2 Pre amp output that we recommend using an external amplifier like our OSD AMP200 then add your speaker selector. volume controls then the speakers. It is recommended you use an impedance matching volume control like the SVC300 for each zone and let them provide the protection for the amplifier. In this scenario you would make sure to disable the protection switch on the ISS8 or DSM8; both are rated 140 watts when protection is disabled versus 70 watts per channel with it enabled. The Volume controls do a better job of impedance matching. The AMP200 is a high current amplifier so would recommend you set all volume controls to 4X and make sure you turn off the zones you are not using versus depending on turning the volume control to inaudible levels (all the way counterclockwise). The DSM8 has identical specs as the ISS8 but a nicer Black Brushed Aluminum face Plate and features dual source with independent A or B source switching per zone. This allows you to listen to two different sources at the same time on different zones. You could play Source A for zones 1, 3, 5, and 8 and Source B on Zones 2, 4, 6 and 7 as an example. Both boxes feature removable input/output terminal connectors. Note the ZONE 2 from the Receiver will allow you to use an App to control the source. I hope that helps TL/4120
