In-wall subs are a great way to experience low frequencies effects without filling up floor space. An excellent in-wall subwoofer at an excellent price, the IWS8 is an 8" passive sub with power handling up to 150 Watts. Installation is easy with our dog-ear bracket system that mounts to the sheet-rock after the cut-out hole has been made. The grille is also paintable to match your room decor and we include a cutout template that doubles as a paint shield.
Amplifier Suggestions
OSD Audio in-wall subs are passive devices, meaning they do not include a built-in amplifier like you would find in our active "box" subs. You will have to provide additional power, specifically a subwoofer amplifier, to drive it. We recommend our SMP200 dedicated subwoofer amplifier that features 120 watts (mono) and front panel controls, phase switch, frequency control knob (35 Hz to 160 Hz) and volume control.

how many of these subs can i connect on to a OSD SMP250?

Hi George:
You can connect two 8 ohm subs in Parallel or four 8 ohm subs in Series Parallel.

Does this connect to the front left and front right speaker jacks when using it as a 5.1 system?

Hi Eric:
This just a 8" In-wall Passive Subwoofer that we recommend using it with our SMP60 or SM-250 Dedicated Sub-woofer amplifiers that connect to your Sub-woofer output on your Receiver. The Sub Amplifiers allows you to adjust the output gain, Phase switch and adjustable low pass crossover point. The SMP250 has a LFE input which is the output from most Audio Video Receivers that the adjustments are controlled by the Receiver (LFE: Low Frequency Effects) The Sub output is controlled just like the other 5 or 7 channels of surround.

The speaker came with these foam black stickers but nowhere in the manual does it state what to do with them...

Hi Ron:
The Black strips that come with the IWS8 you insert in the groove in the frame that holds the grill to the front of the speaker. You use it to make a tight fit for the speaker grille, so it does not pop out while moving lots of air while reproducing the low frequencies.
