QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

I would like to put 2 of these PS830 on my patio, can you also suggest a sub woofer to go with these speakers
By Customer Service - Q&A on March 12, 2012

Answer:
Hi Ralph,

The PS830 has plenty of bottom-end featuring an 8-inch driver and a frequency response down to 40 Hz. We do not have a true patio subwoofer. We do have a couple of outdoor subwoofer options, however. I would try the PS830 first and see if it has enough bass for your application. We do have a special bundle on our SMP250 and OMSUB300 which might work if you determine you still want more bass. You will need the dedicated subwoofer amp to really make a difference. Please note, the OM-SUB300 likes to be buried in the ground to be most effective. Hopefully it appeals to you cosmetically and you can find a location that works. Our CL3 speaker wire is direct burial approved as well.

Need to tell you about this PS 830. "Rob" from Austin, Tx", may have no cold weather, but I live in NORTH CAROLINA! and my urn cracked the first time the weather got below 40 degrees. I am SO disappointed, as it was neither cheap nor easy. WHAT SAY YOU< OSD?

From observing the Vase Speaker on photo. It is difficult to see exactly where the various Speaker Locations are designed on the Vase itself. Please point out.

Answer:
Hi George:

The speaker driver compartment is the bottom half of the Vase. The speaker is facing downwards and using the base to provide a 360 degree dispersion.

Hi Kathie,

We too are in North Carolina and considering the PS830, but your experience with the crack is freaking us out. Did OSD resolve your situation?
By Customer Service - Q&A on June 6, 2012

Answer:
Hi Brad,

All OSD Audio outdoor speakers have all-weather designs and can take heat, cold, rain, etc. It is extremely rare for an enclosure to crack, although it could happen under extreme weather conditions, which is why we recommend that customers cover their outdoor speakers during these times. We responded quickly to Kathie’s issue and requested a picture of the crack so we could analyze it to determine if there was a defect. As of this date, we are not received the picture.
Rest assured that OSD stands by all our speakers, indoor and outdoor units, and if a customer experiences problems we will do all that we reasonably can to fix it.
