Remote Control Digital Volume Controller

Like the idea of distributed audio—seamless sound throughout the house—but aren't sold on volume controls that you have to get up and adjust every time the phone rings? Acoustic Research has the solution for you. The ARDVC1 is a pioneering concept in that it allows you the complete control of a digital audio system that would typically cost thousands of dollars in the form of a digital volume control. Retro-fitting into just about any traditional whole house audio system that uses autoformer based volume controls is also possible. The only addition to be made is running economical Cat 5 to connect to an IR hub (compatible with most IR hubs, hub sold separately).

An RJ-45 jack on the rear of the volume control provides connection to virtually any IR hub for power (provided by the 12 VDC IR system) and signal. Phoenix-type speaker/amplifier connectors facilitate easy pre-installation. Included are simple installation instructions and an IR remote control. Replacement battery for IR control is a CR2025 3V button cell (sold separately).
