Yes, this needs to be hard wired. You would also need two if you wanted to run in stereo. Otherwise you will need a bridged mono signal to run a single Dog speaker Full Range. Check out our AMP120 which has that capability (Bridged Mono Output). You could plug an iPod or computer into the Amp and then connect the single speaker from the AMP120 and play the full range signal to the Dog.

WOW! I bought the German Shepherd dog speaker for my husband to use on our patio and it is fabulous! It looks so real our cats wouldn't go near it. The sound quality is superb even outdoors. We are both very happy with the quality of the product. The description of the speaker on the site is very accurate and true to their promise of high quality build and sound. Our biggest concern now is that someone may want to run away with it. A suggestion would be to have an option to secure the speaker somehow to deter against theft. - Rad Poffy
