Tim • 05/10/2026, 9:17:19 AM Do these volume controls work with BOM 4.1.2 system? If so, can I connect to just adjust one of the four speakers (I.e I would have 2 ‘zones’, one with 1 speaker controlled by this volume control that I could turn off, and the other 3 on the main just controlled via Bluetooth ). Thanks

Hi Tim: The OVC300 is really intended to control a pair of speakers, not a single speaker. Since the BOM4.1.2 is stereo, using only one speaker on the volume control can create an uneven load and potentially affect balance/impedance depending on how it’s wired. There are two four-conductor wires coming from the bottom of the BOM4.1.2 enclosure. I am assuming you have a pair of speakers wired with each set of four conductors (R & L +/-), and you want to split the second pair where you add a stereo volume control connecting one channel. You actually have two independent 4-ohm stereo amplifiers mounted in the BOM enclosure. You could have two pairs of speakers wired together in parallel, and then a third pair of speakers connected to the second four-conductor cable coming from the BOM. You could add your OVC300 inline with the third pair as a true stereo volume control. The impedance setting would likely be set to 1/2X, depending on which speakers you are using.
