Is this volume control discontinued and if so what is the replacement.
1 Answers
Hi Rodney: The MONO70V has been discontinued. The MVC series has replaced these units. The Mono 70V was only rated at 10 watts limiting its application. The three new MVC series features 25, 50 and 100 watt versions. All three feature a two channel input (mono +/-) and a two channel thru-put which allows you to daisy chain multiple Volume Controls without affecting the output side of any of the Volume controls after the transformers. So you can still have a single output from your receiver and wire all your speakers and volume controls after that. I do not believe anyone else has this feature. We also just introduced a 2 zone Mono 70 Volt Speaker Selector featuring on off switch per zone, 2 MVC-100 internal Volume Control;s. It also has thru output allowing you to stack as many 2 zone speaker selectors you might need. So check them out... TL/4521

Does this have a smooth rotation or in steps? For ADA and handicap, we cannot have rotary steps. it must be a smooth rotary like a normal volume control. Thanks

I need a 70V volume control for outside use. can this be used outside? and if not, do you make an outside 70V volume control?

Hi Bill, Although we do not have a outdoor 70V volume control we do have a waterproof box that would seal off an indoor one if you wanted to use it outside. Here is a link https://www.outdoorspeakerdepot.com/drclwa.html CL

I have a daisy chain of three bose 102 speakers rated at 25W on a 70V system. I do not see a watt rating on this volume control. Could this one handle 75W to 100W
1 Answers
Hi Rich, The 70V Mono Volume Control is rated at a nominal 10W. What is the total wattage of your 70V amplifier? If you are setting the taps at 25W, I am assuming you are running a 75 to 100 watt amplifier. The BOSE speaker also features 2, 4,8,16 in addition to the 25W setting. Are you looking to connect a single Volume to control all three speakers or three volume controls (one for each speaker)? I believe if you are utilizing a volume control per speaker ,you should have no problem with this volume control. TL

Exactly what I needed......
We needed to add volume controls for single speaker (non-stereo application) locations throughout our office and this volume control is perfect. It is simple to install, looks great and feels solid. The wire connector plate slides off the switch so you can screw down the connections without holding the switch in your hand. The only thing that would make it better would be "markings" on the knob and plate to show how low/high the volume is set. Without these, you have to physically turn the knob completely off or full on to figure out where it is currently set.
