Should I Purchase special cable for in-ceiling speakers? Wiring is not included with in-ceiling speakers so you will have to purchase some. While wiring requirements will depend on your local building codes, OSD Audio offers CL3/FT4 cable that is UL (fire) rated for all residential and most commercial in-wall and in-ceiling applications. (The exception is you cannot run this cable in heating or cooling ducts in commercial applications.) This cable includes a heavy-duty outer jacket approved for in-wall/in-ceiling installation. The high quality plastic jacket is also very flexible so it's easy to run the wires inside the wall.
Yes, these speakers should work for your application. They feature rustproof Aluminum Grills, and weatherproof components would recommend adding a bid of Waterproof Silicon around the cutout hole so, it forms a seal with the frame when installing the speaker.
The power rating worse case is 75 to 100 watts Continous with a peak of 150 watts, but you may want to consider the other specifications when making a decision. Like Impedance, these are 8-ohm so you can connect two pair in parallel for a 4-ohm load at the amplifier. Sensitivity is also essential; these are rated at 90dB (anything above 90dB is very efficient) meaning they take less power to achieve full output. Last you want to check Frequency Response; these rate at 40Hz to 20kHz, the 40Hz is suitable for a 6.5" speaker, the ICE840WRS is only 38Hz to 20kHz.
