In-wall subs are a great way to experience low frequencies effects without filling up floor space. An excellent in-wall subwoofer at an excellent price, the IWS8 is an 8" passive sub with power handling up to 150 Watts. Installation is easy with our dog-ear bracket system that mounts to the sheet-rock after the cut-out hole has been made. The grille is also paintable to match your room decor and we include a cutout template that doubles as a paint shield.

    Amplifier Suggestions
OSD Audio in-wall subs are passive devices, meaning they do not include a built-in amplifier like you would find in our active "box" subs. You will have to provide additional power, specifically a subwoofer amplifier, to drive it. We recommend our SMP200 dedicated subwoofer amplifier that features 120 watts (mono) and front panel controls, phase switch, frequency control knob (35 Hz to 160 Hz) and volume control.

“I tried these and thought "they're inexpensive so its
    worth a shot" and WOW....quite impressed....I put 4 of these in a
theatre wall and use the room as a weekend home/mancave. I blew one
receiver and one 12" high end self powered sub and these are still
going strong. Just wish they made these in 12" subs.... Great
    product!”

“This speaker will fit for the bass speaker in the rear of
a Toyota 4 runner. It is 8 ohm so just connect the two leads ( 4
pair) to the speaker. WORKS GREAT !!!”

Curtis • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM What type of wire do you run from the amp to the this sub?
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Two conductor (+/-) speaker wire, we would recommend our 14 Gauge 2 conductor CL3 rated in-wall wire as the best choice. TL

Cutis, You would run standard speaker cable from the amp to the IWS-8 CL

Jeff, Back boxes are great with these speakers. A standard back box would be approximately 18" L x 17 3/4" W x 5" Depth CL

maryanng794 is online. Tim: Hi Mary Ann Hi Steven: We are placing an image on both the OS790 and OM-SUB200 that will feature hook-up for the Sub Sat system. The OS790 is Frequency Response of 42Hz to 20kHz and the Sub200 is rated at 50 to 250 Hz. The Sub Sat system allows more focus by the OS790 to produce Frequencies above 250 while the Sub is dedicated to Low Frequenices only. Having a dedicated subwoofer in line with the satellite speakers provides more total ouput especially important for wide open spaces. Question #639 Sent at 1:47 PM on Monday Tim: Hi Jeff: If you are planning to build a box inside the wall versus in-Ceiling the measurements would be closer to 24" tall by 14 1/2" x 4". We would recommend using 1 x 4" for the frame and 1/2" Plywood or MDF walls. It is recommended using Silion chaulk to seal all the seams on the inside. The real benefit for enclosing especially inside the wall is to make sure your bass information comes out into the intended room and not out the backside. TL Answer #2 for 646 Sent at 2:03 PM on Monday Tim: HI Dave: The Speaker features two hand mounting screws to disconnect the speaker from the Bracket, Then just disconnecting the speaker wire then your done. You have the option of removing the Speaker Brackets if you choose and depending on the screws you select you might not have to take the screws all the way out just loosen them enough to slide the bracket and remove it. TL Question 648 Sent at 2:10 PM on Monday Tim: Hi Alonzo: You can connect up to two 8 ohm Subwoofers to the M3 (SMP250) Subwoofer Amplifier. That would limit you to two of the IWS8 subs or two of the IWS10 (Bigger woofers more cone area more output) or we even have the IWS88 Dual 8 inch subs that are rated at 8 ohm so connecting two pair of these gets you even more cone space while showing the SMP250 Subwoofer amplifier a 4 ohm load. Creating dedicated sealed enclosures also will help increase output as well. Migoni • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM I bought this Sub with SMP60 Sub-woofer Amp and I am unable to get any good bass out of it. I was expecting to at least get a bit of kick out of it but I have nothing. I have tried all of the settings that I can think of and nothing seems to be helping. Do I need to build an in wall box to improve performance or is there something I can do to quickly improve the sound out of the sub?.
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Migoni, The SMP60 amplifier does not have the power to drive a Dual 8" sub. We group this amp with the single IWS8 only. You need to exchange the SMP60 for the SMP250. Please go to the bottom of our home page under support. The link is: How to Return a Product. CL/MA 1580
