Lifetime Tech Support

Superior sound quality and a sleek, modern look make the OSD Audio AP450 outdoor patio speaker pair the perfect choice for outdoor environments. With a rust-resistant aluminum grille and a composite cabinet, these all-weather speakers can handle temperature fluctuations between -20 degrees F and 200 degrees F. You'll love the sound these speakers produce, and they're available in black or white. The speakers include mounting brackets that will allow you to mount either vertically or horizontal. We recommend to place the speakers anywhere from 8 to 12 feet apart for best stereo dispersion.

  • Rust-resistant aluminum grille and composite cabinet
  • Handles temperature fluctuations from '20F to 200F
  • A great outdoor speaker for desks and hot tub areas
  • Available in black or white
Do I need special cable to run outdoor speakers?
We strongly recommend our direct burial, CL3/FT4 waterproof cable and wire connectors that are designed for the outdoors. Our speaker wire uses a specially formulated UV-resistant, white polyethylene jacket that provides protection against water damage and allows the cables to withstand extreme weather conditions like rain, snow and high temperatures and incorporate twice the insulation of average cable. If you plan to bury the cable, OSD recommends you bury it 4-6" underground so that it's not visible nor pose a danger of somebody tripping over it. Our speaker cable is ideal to use in direct burial applications. As for the gauge, for runs up to 100 feet for background music, 16-gauge will be fine. If the run is approaching or exceeding 100 feet, we suggest 14-gauge wire.

Volume controls can be a great addition to a system providing both proper impedance matching and more hands-on local control of the volume in the listening area. We offer a great selection of outdoor volume controls to choose from!

jeff • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM can I install these within a block wall ? looking for a speaker to place inside a paver column
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hello, These mount to external surfaces, so if there is a screw that is for block wall, then you should be able to.
James • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM Want to attach AP450 speakers and OVC 100 volume control to a XM satellite radio on a small patio.. will this sytem work?
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hello James, That will be fine, but you will need an amp to power the speakers. You can plug your XM radio into the amp as your music source.
Michael Gallison • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM I have a small food trailer and need speakers to call people to come.pick up thier orders.what kind of range do these speakers have?I am running a 100 amp Pa head.
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
HI Michael: These would most likely work for your application. Next step-up, I would recommend our new AP-525 which give you more install option with its unique mounting bracket. TL/3902
Melissa • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM Just received these as a gift and they seem great! How do I connect them to an iPhone to play music outside? Are they wireless?
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
HI Melissa: These speakers need an external amplifier to provide power to these speakers. Checkout our AMP 120 which you can connect your iPhone using a 3.5 mm to RCA adapter cable. The 3.5 mm plugs into your headphone jack on your iPhone then the dual RCA plug into the main inputs of the AMP 120. You will also need some Speaker wire to connect between the Amplifier and your speakers like our 16/2 two conductor CL3/FT4 rated cable. The cable is approved for in-wall, outdoor and direct burial installations. You will need enough to connect to both speakers. TL/3968
Bryn • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM I have a few speakers on my patio already, but would like to add a few more to increase my listening area. I have a great canopy tree that I would like hang these underneath a branch. they would get a little wet a few months out of the year. would these hold up to some water or is there a better speaker?
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Bryn: Our highest rated outdoor speaker are either our AP525 or AP650. Both are best when dealing directly with the elements. Both are Sealed design with no port. They also feature a unique mounting bracket for more flexible mounting options. Note: The AP450 does feature a sealed design as well but does not have the output capability to match either of the AP525 or AP650. TL/4182
