Jonathan • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM I see these are rated 75 Watts. Our receiver is 200 Watts, 100 Watts per channel, so I’m guessing these aren’t powerful enough.

Hi Jonathan: The AP650 (Silver/White cone) would be a better match for your Amplifier. It is rated at 150 watts, Frequency Response: 37Hz to 22kHz and a Sensitivity of 91dB. White or Black plus like the AP525 it features a unique mounting bracket that Swivels and Tilts. TL/5100
James • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM Looking to buy the AP525 outdoor speakers but confused on its power handling compared to AP490. The 525's state they are rated at 75 watts. The 490's with smaller woofer is rated at 100 watts. Can someone explain why the difference, are the 490's better with higher powered amps?
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi James: The AP490 are no longer available. Check the Owners manual on the AP525 web page. The AP490 list at 100 watts and the AP525 list at 120 Watts. Technically the AP490 was 50 watts RMS 100 Watts Peak. The AP525 rated at 75 Watts RMS 120 Watts Peak. Power handling is not the only spec you should compare. Frequency Response, AP525: 45Hz to 22kHz and the AP490: 60Hz to 22kHz so the 5.25 goes lower, has more low end. Also, check their sensitivity, AP525: 90dB and AP490: 88dB. So the AP525 are more efficient and take less power to drive (the higher the number, the more efficient, 3 dB is doubling power). The AP525 also features a unique two-way mounting system (Swivels and tilts). And it is available in white or black, in stock. And the same speaker is available in Bluetooth version as well. TL/5411
JOE • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM I LIVE IN ARIZONA. I WOULD LIKE TO PUT FOUR AP525's AROUND MY POOL. THEY WOULD BE EXPOSED, AS I DONT HAVE ANY AWNINGS OR PATIO NEARBY. WILL THESE SPEAKERS HOLD UP? WE, OF COURSE HAVE EXTREME HEAT AS WELL AS MONSOONS WHICH BRING ALOT OF DUST AND RAIN. I WILL BE GOING WITH THE 70V VERSION BECAUSE IM PUTTING SPEAKERS IN MY FIRE PIT AREA AS WELL AS THE PATIO.
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Joe:Either the AP525 or even the AP650 (6.5") speaker will work for your extreme application. They both have an IP rating of IP6X, which means they were tested for Dust exposure and were certified 100% sealed from Dust. Another option is our FORZA5 indoor/outdoor Pendant speaker who has 8-ohm/70Volt as well plus an IP66 rating, 100% sealed for Dust and Water. It sold a hanging pendant speaker. You would need to add the outdoor accessory kit which features an in the ground stake or wall mount option. Whether you go with the patio speaker or Pendant speaker these are the best choices for your application.Good choiceTL/5554
Matt • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM I would like to purchase two sets of these speakers. 1 set outside around pool area and the 2nd set inside pool house. I have a 4.1 receiver rated at 100 watts. Is this good for these? and what would I need if I wanted volume controls for each set so I could change volumes on A and B speakers.
    Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Matt:The AP525 patio speakers should be a good match for your application. The OVC100 Outdoor Impedance matching Volume Controls will allow you to control the volume of your two areas independent of the other. The Volume Control to be wired in line with each speaker. It adds no gain but instead allows you to attenuate or turn the volume down. I am assuming when you refer to your amplifier it is a 2.1 with Speaker A and Speaker B. Either way the Impedance setting of the OVC100 would be 1/2X for both. TL5556
Harry • 06/08/2021, 11:26:56 AM I am looking to connect an Alexa device to these speakers and using the OSD Audio Nero Stream WRA Outdoor WiFi Amplifier to do so. Will that amplifier allow for a "stand alone" outdoor system? The amp will be under cover, but will remain outdoors. Running from the indoor system is not an option unfortunately.
    Customer Service • 06/10/2021, 6:54:29 PM
Hi Harry: The WRA amplifier has an outdoor-rated chassis of IP:64, and an external Power Supply rated at Ip:67. There is no problem running a system outdoors while being placed undercover (with some protection from the direct elements). You can connect an ALEXA device, especially if you have a Line output (3.5mm stereo connection), or check with your device to see if it can be a Bluetooth Transmitter. You could then connect via Bluetooth from the Alexa device with the WRA set to Bluetooth. TimL/6-10-21
