Hi Danny,
For your application, we recommend our AP650 patio speakers. These speakers accept regular speaker cable like our 16-2. For amplification, look at the AMP200. With this combination, you'll enjoy great outdoor audio for years to come.

Can you take the speaker grills off so they can be painted? If so, how do they come off?
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Greg,
We have a video that explains how to remove and install OSD audio speaker grilles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqGP4JUwDTw. We recommend spray painting the grills to avoid clogging the the holes.

I often take the grills off and clear coat them. It seems to last longer than any paint.

Can the speaker swivel 90 degrees on the bracket without hitting the wall its mounted on
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Rocco,
The speaker would ultimately hit the wall before it reached 90 degrees.

What is the difference between the 640 and 670?
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Glen:
Both are excellent speakers, the AP-640 goes a little lower 39 Hz vs. 44 Hz and the AP-670 goes a little higher 22 kHz vs 20 kHz. The AP-640 handles more power 150 vs 120. The AP-670 has a bigger chassis 14 9/16 vs 11 1/2. The biggest difference is the mounting angle of the U bracket AP-640 has 180 degrees vs 70 degrees for the AP-670. Both cost the same with free shipping. I believe the AP-670 is a newer design.
