Caitlin • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM Will this allow me to paid two sets of rock speakers onto the same blue tooth?
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Catlin: I believe you should be looking at the BOM4.1 Bluetooth 100 Watt Subwoofer with two stereo outputs at 60 watts per channel. There is a built-in Bluetooth Receiver and 4.1 Power Amplifier. You can connect any two pairs of Patio, Garden, Rock or Omni speakers. Or mix and match. TL/5110
James • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM The specs list this as a 4 ohm subwoofer, and since it's a stereo sub I assume that means it has a DVC with 4 ohms per coil correct? That being said, is the crossover designed to be used with satellites which are 8 ohms like most of your rock speakers are? Or is it designed for 4 ohm satellites to match the impedance of the sub? Using 4 ohm vs 8 ohm satellites can have a great effect on the crossover point of the speaker, depending on how the crossover board is designed.
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi James: This is the new OSDOMSub200S. It is a newer model that came in that is a Subwoofer with only a 2 conductor wire (+/-) that is meant connected to a dedicated subwoofer Power Amplifier. It does not feature an internal crossover like its predecessor. It is a 4-ohm sub so it will not match up with our SMP250 subwoofer amp which is rated at 8-ohms. We will have the original back in stock within 90 days. We are expecting two or three new Sub amps that will play 4-ohm. Stay tuned TL/5111
Chan Timmons • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM I have several Rock speakers from you all. OSD Audio RS850TT and HF24 Omni 360. Will this support what I have in place today?
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Chan: It depends how many total speakers you currently have. I am assuming you have the single stereo Rock Speaker (RS850TT) and a pair of OMNI rock speakers (HF24 OMNI360). If so than a single OMSUB200S and our SMP250 Sub Amp would be a nice addition. If you have more than the single stereo speaker and a pair of the OMNI speakers you should consider 2 of the OM SUB200S and aSMP500DSP New Digital 500 Subwoofer Amplifier. It nice to have a subwoofer dedicated to a pair of speakers. The SMP250 is an 8-ohm Sub Amp limited to a single sub whereas the SMP500DSP can easily power two Subs (rated at 4 ohms). TL/5123
Bill • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM I have a Crown XLS power amp which provides 300 watts/channel at 8 ohms and 450 watts/channel at 4 ohms. If I wire 2 of these Omni Subs in series, thereby showing the amp an 8 ohm load, will that provide enough power and adequate headroom for both subs? I am assuming that 450 watts per channel would be too much power for one 4 ohm sub. Thanks in advance for your help.
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Bill: I would love to sell you a couple of the OSSUB200S except I do not believe they will work for your application. These do not have built-in crossovers (they need to be driven by a dedicated Sub Woofer Amplifier like our SMP250 which would need to have two of these wired in series because it will only power an 8-ohm load. Your CROWN XLS is an excellent Amplifier but full range with no sub output. Our original OS-SUB200 did have an internal crossover. A better choice for two subs would be our GLS* an 8-inch in-ground subwoofer with internal crossover (low pass filter) and it is rated at 8-ohm so you could power two in parallel and get more out of your XLS (always better to have more power). The bad news we are out of stock on the GLS8 until the end of the month. TL/5197
Terry Callaway • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM I have a BOM4.1 inground Bluetooth subwoofer speaker with 2 pair of LS2 speakers wired to it. The bass from the subwoofer is extremely low, but the satellites sound great. When I put the subwoofer underground ( with about 5? above ground) the Bluetooth range is reduced to about 7 feet. When I remove it from underground, Bluetooth range improved considerably. The bass output is very weak. Can you offer any remedy for these 2 issues? I would also like to add a third pair of LS2 speakers. Will the BIM 4 drive 3 pair? Do you think a local speaker repair service could do something to beef up the bass on the subwoofer? Thank you
Customer Service • 12/17/2019, 2:17:43 PM
Hi Terry: The BOM4.1 has an internal antenna located on the circuit board which unfortunately located on the bottom of the unit. A modification for our next shipment will raise the circuit board with internal brackets. That does not help you right now since it is not a retrofit solution. Regarding your second question, each of the two stereo amplifiers will handle a four-ohm load (connecting two pairs in parallel). If the Impedance load dips below 4 ohms, it will go into protection. The Sub amp has a peak output of 100 watts, but you may be losing some of the output signal not being able to bury it without losing distance for connecting to your device. I am sorry for the late response, let us know what else we can do. TL/5264
